Sweetree's Marokopa Manuka is collected from December to January from the remote west coast settlement of Marokopa, south of the renowned Waitomo caves.

Manuka honey is sought after for its natural anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties.  Our 2017 honey has been tested with an NPA activity level of .... and MG of .... at Analytica Laboratory.  Find out more about 'Active Manuka' here.

Our Marokopa Manuka is light in colour because it is a coastal manuka.  Manuka honeys vary tremendously in colour depending on the location harvested, from a very light amber in the southern Hawkes Bay to very dark honey from the north.

The honey's 'HMF' level is 4mg/kg, indicating very low levels of heating and very fresh honey! Fresh extracted honey is usually below 10mg/kg, higher levels such as 40mg/kg indicate excessive heating.  Find out more about HMF.
